During MOMO Fabrique, N8W8 and Library Rotterdam are curating a program focusing on mental wellbeing and nightlife with special guests including journalist and non-fiction writer Haroon Ali and the YungWorld collective in the Sculpture Garden in the M4H area.

Local performers from YungWorld will give their personal perspective on nightlife in relation to mental well-being. Following this, acclaimed journalist and writer Haroon Ali will be interviewed by N8W8 about his take on these themes.

About Haroon Ali
Haroon Ali is a freelance journalist, interviewer, essayist and columnist for various dailies and public magazines. He mainly on culture, diversity and the zeitgeist. Ali has a Pakistani father and a Dutch mother, and was raised Muslim. He renounced his faith when he came out of the closet as gay at age 21. About those clashing identities, Ali wrote the nonfiction book "Half," which was published by De Bezige Bij in September 2020. Ali has lived in Amsterdam all his life, but previously traveled the world as a travel journalist before the corona crisis forced him to stay closer to home.

About YungWorld
Young artist from Rotterdam Delfshaven, have collected unheard stories from the neighbourhood and processed them into languade art, in the broadcast sense of the word. They have received workshops about writing itself, but also about emotions and they can incorporate this into their texts. In this way they have grown both as an artist and as a person.
We also jonkingly call them the street journalist because they are given the opportunity to bring out what is happening in their neighbourhood in their own, authentic way. Language art in the broadest sense of the word so it van be rap, ghost or even prose.

Day program: Playground
The versatile MOMO Fabrique festival will take place in the M4H harbor area of ​​Rotterdam on 2 September. With the free accessible Playground in the Keilekwartier during the day, from 12:00-17:00, with (live) music, workshops, exhibitions, guided tours, a vintage & design market, food and much more! The Keilekwartier in M4H is a vibrant place with innovative, creative and traditional makers. From furniture and food makers to musicians and artists. During MOMO Fabrique Playground you can experience the work of these makers in the unique harbor area.

Evening/night programme: Electronic music and performances
The evening and night program of MOMO Fabrique focuses on electronic music, with (live) sets and performances until late at night in the Fruitvis, Citrusveiling and Weelde. Tickets for this are available through the website of Motel Mozaïque.

The dinner: a pre-opening of MOMO Fabrique Festival
On September 1st, the day before MOMO Fabrique Festival, Motel Mozaïque organizes a special dinner in the Food Garden. Expect the finest flavors cooked by chef Gilbert Kolff, with ingredients from the M4H area. Performances will be given between courses, and you will have the opportunity to watch the opening of the Petromelancholia exhibition at Brutus. A dinner to remember! Seats at the table are limited.
