We have room for an independent intern, preferably at HBO or WO level. At Art Institution Brutus there is a lot to learn as an intern. What your internship will look like also depends on what you want (or need) to learn. During your internship, you will come in contact with various facets of an Art Institution such as communication, programming and production.

Brutus arises from the AVL Mundo foundation. AVL Mundo was founded in 2008 by Dutch artist Joep van Lieshout and is located in the up-and-coming and creative M4H area in Rotterdam. With 6,000 m2 of exhibition and event spaces, there are ambitious program and project development plans for this former harbour warehouse complex on the Keileweg.
In 2022, the location was officially renamed Brutus, an Artist Driven Playground. Be surprised with contemporary stimulating art in the spaces called 'Cathedral', 'Barbarian' and 'Office'. BRUTUS is also happy to collaborate and this is reflected during Museum Night, Rotterdam Art Week and Momo Fabrique (Motel Mozaique) and Roffa Mon Amour. Do you want to know more about it? You can participate in:

setting up and executing plans for various productions

taking care of the layout of the location

production work in the run-up to exhibitions and events

guidance during events and guided tours

maintaining the archive

supervising the layout and layout of the publicity material (posters/flyers)

other promotional & support activities

The internship period must involve a period of at least three months. Brutus offers an internship allowance of €220,- per month for this internship position with a 36-hour internship week. And an unusual and special learning and working environment! There are also opportunities to attend openings and other programs free of charge.

What's important?

you are an enthusiastic personality

you have a (demonstrable) affinity with art & culture

you preferably live in the Rotterdam region

you are following a HBO or WO study in the direction of Marketing, Communication, Creative Marketing & Sales, Art & Economics, Graphic Design, Visual Arts Teacher, M&EM or CMV

it is useful if you have some knowledge of design programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

you have an independent and enterprising attitude

unfortunately we don't have room for a graduation internship
