The first edition of Wild Summer of Art will take place from 1 July to 4 September 2022. A huge exhibition modeled on the annual Summer Exhibition of the Royal Academy of Arts in London. In Wild Summer of Art a total of 180 artists are in the spotlight this year. The work is not only on display but also for sale, with the entire amount going to the artist. The ambitions for Wild Summer of Art are to repeat this exhibition every year in the summer, just like the Summer Exhibition.

Piet de Jonge, (former curator Van Abbemuseum, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen and Museum Kröller-Müller), Jessy Koeiman (curator Collective Learning, Kunstinstituut Melly) and Liesbeth Bik (visual artist and curator) about the exhibition: "It's not often that the energy, work, and artistic intelligence of so many can be seen together in one location. In all spaces of BRUTUS, Wild Summer of Art shows a cross-section of the Rotterdam art scene in all its facets. The ecosystem of the city is reflected and tangible in this exhibition. And, perhaps more importantly, artists see each other too."
