Under the banner of “Rotterdamse KunstPrijzen”, Mayor Carola Schouten presented four prestigious awards last Tuesday, April 21, at Rotterdam City Hall: the Brutus Prizes, the Hendrik Chabot Prize, and the Dolf Henkes Prize. A shared goal is the reason for this joint initiative.

All three organizations involved are committed to promoting high-quality, distinctive art; all three aim to generate greater interest among a broad audience in Rotterdam, the region, and far beyond. Together, they present themselves as “De Rotterdamse KunstPrijzen”. Through their awards, they focus on different categories of artists, across various ages and/or stages of their artistic careers. In this context, they collaborate with cultural institutions in Rotterdam such as CBK Rotterdam, Chabot Museum, TENT Rotterdam, Brutus, Stichting Droom en Daad, and others.

Winner of the Brutus Prize: Jason Hendrik Hansma
Winner of the Brutus Prize for Art Criticism: Jeroen Bosch
Winner of the Hendrik Chabot Prize: Silvia B.
Winner of the Dolf Henkes Prize: Jaasir Linger
